日本智慧手機/平板電腦情報部落格rbmen 19日轉述南韓媒體Biz.Chosun的報導指出，Sony Mobile旗鑑款智慧手機「Xperia Z1(見附圖)」預計將在2014年1月20日於南韓市場開賣，售價為80萬-89萬韓圜，此將為Sony在暌違了2年之後、再度進軍南韓手機市場。

報導指出，Sony Mobile將不會透過南韓電信業者販售Z1，而消費者在購買Z1後，可自由自電信業者挑選所想要的資費方案。據報導，Sony Mobile之所以會在南韓開賣Z1，主要是為了搶先替Z1次代機種探路。

Sony供應鏈大會釋出的訊息顯示，Sony仍將智慧型手機視為集團科技業振作的第一步，預計2014年會計年度(2014年4月至2015年3月)的手機銷售目標訂在6,500萬台。以Sony 2013年度(2013年4月至2014年3月)智慧手機銷售量目標為4,200萬台為基期，2014年智慧型手機銷售目標年成長為55%，優於今年的年成長27%目標。
