台中市政府衛生局提供喘息服務，衛生局長黃美娜提醒民眾，長照個案家屬每年可獲得14-21天的「喘息服務」，以及每月兩次的居家護理服務，只要申請，就會有照護員前往住家，親自教導衛教家 屬如何照顧失能長者、也可藉由居家復健，教導失能長者利用家中的道具訓練肌力及進行關節運動、讓失能長者的日常生活功能進步。
 
黃美娜表示，不論住在哪 裡，只要撥打一通聯絡電話：4128080或手機撥打02-4128080，或上衛生局長期照顧管理中心網頁，搜尋相關長期照顧服務資訊、及「長照服務e 指通」申請，長期照顧管理中心即刻全程服務。(鄭敏玲／台中報導)
