【綜合報導】烏木又稱陰沉木、炭化木，是樹木因地震、洪水、泥石流等原因，埋入古河床等低窪處，在缺氧、高壓狀態以及細菌微生物等作用下，經數百上千年的炭化，所形成的化石，故又有「植物木乃伊」之稱。

中國古代有將烏木作避邪之用，製成工藝品、佛像、護身符等。烏木的價值要看原木的種類、外形、炭化程度等而定，據悉一棵重1噸左右的烏木，市價高達100萬元人民幣，約為485萬台幣。
