2014台灣設計展今天起在台糖台東糖廠舉行，展期十六天，本次展覽最大亮點是由浪板、稻穀、漂流木，腳踏車輪及檳榔幹材等回收與自然材質，經由設計過程，巧妙的變成展示平台。

邁入第12屆的「2014台灣設計展」首度到東台灣的台東開展，今年主題展館有「綠島大旅社」與「公東百貨行」兩棟展館、以及八大展區；另外，更規劃日光開門、時光開門與臺東任意門等系列活動，而且從即日起到八月八號的晚上，特別規劃「夜光開門」活動，邀請來自日本石垣島、紐西蘭、大溪地、蒲隆地、關島等九個國家表演團體演出。主辦單位還首次規劃網路互動遊戲，參與的民眾可免費獲得大會限定紀念品與策展人限定設計商品。
