創作《一生一世》的，應該有參考過港產片經典《甜蜜蜜》，尤其結局的安排，說是致敬也不為過。
《甜蜜蜜》後來變種成《金雞》，以一件件本土大事作背景，務求引發香港觀眾共鳴。《一生一世》的格式相似，都係《阿甘正傳》，來到紐約取景，套用的事件變得更國際化。視野，始終停留在土豪。
