根據《ESPN》報導，金鶯跟「新版地域喪鐘」Heath Bell簽下小聯盟合約，執行副總裁Dan Duquette表示，相信Bell能在本季幫助金鶯。

正版的「地獄喪鐘」Trevor Hoffman退休之後，Bell在2009年到2011年拿下132次救援成功，是該期間大聯盟的領先者，因此也獲得「新版地域喪鐘」的稱號。

原本開季效力於光芒，13場出賽1勝1敗自責分率7.27，Bell在這個月初遭到指定讓渡，金鶯現在確定跟Bell簽下小聯盟3A合約。

金鶯執行副總裁Dan Duquette說：「Bell是很有經驗的投手，他也同意了3A的合約，再過一段時間，我們相信他可以在大聯盟投球幫助球隊。」

本季金鶯的終結者Tommy Hunter表現搖搖欲墜，雖然拿下11次救援成功，但過程都相當驚險，昨天(16日)在有救援機會的情況下並未出賽，被Zach Britton取而代之。
