據休士頓紀事報於今天報導指出，林書豪尋求三分球出手更為順暢。這將會是他新賽季的一大轉變，在三分球出手更為順暢下，來提高投籃命中率。

在球隊訓練結束後，林書豪與隊友圍繞著三分弧線，進行投籃練習時，媒體觀察到林書豪的三分投籃方式有所改變，指出這並非林書豪歷經四天6次訓練感到疲累，而是他在投籃姿勢上有了變化。

「我覺得投籃變得順暢多了。在休兵期間，我意識到必須做出調整，讓我的投籃更為自然，於是我靠著投籃教練做了很多訓練，這是一種演變的過程，有時在同一時間內無法做出太多的改變。」
