美國房貸榮景不再，又傳銀行大裁員！花旗集團(Citigroup)23日宣布裁撤房貸部門的1,000名員工。美國市場利率走高，房貸和再融資需求降溫，今年以來相關業者已大砍超過7,000名員工。

華爾街日報和路透社報導，房貸市場裁員潮接連不斷，花旗之前，美國最大房貸業者富國銀行(Wells Fargo & Co)已刪減4,000人；美國銀行(Bank of America)也砍掉2,100人。

房貸利率衝上兩年新高，9月初再融資申請人數跌至近4年新低。Keefe, Bruyette & Woods(KBW)證券分析師Frederick Cannon指出，銀行不分大小，無不刪減開支、裁撤人力，因應房貸營收的下滑趨勢。

Inside Mortgage Finance資料顯示，今年第2季為止，花旗是美國第6大房貸業者，市佔率為3.9%。遭裁員的1,000人中，760人均是拉斯維加斯分部的員工，多為房貸銷售和承銷人員。

花旗近來壞訊息頻傳，金融時報日前引述內情人士訊息，今年夏天花旗的市場交易狀況遠不如預期。該行業務偏重於近來表現不佳的利率和外匯交易，加上花旗又是美國銀行當中對新興市場曝險最多的業者，10月15日公佈的Q3財報恐怕不會太好看，還有人斷言花旗營收將大跌超過10%。
