視網膜再生 日本啟動研究

位於神戶市的日本理化學研究所與尖端醫療中心醫院，已針對「誘導性多功能幹細胞」（iPS）再生視網膜的臨床研究徵求患者，代表全球iPS臨床研究的正式啟動。

徵求的對象是「增齡性黃斑病變」患者，這是一種視網膜受傷導致視力急劇下降，甚至失明的頑疾，日本國內約有70萬這類患者。具體條件為50歲以上、矯正視力不足0.3、治療藥物無效、視野中心部分較暗等。

臨床研究中，科研人員將利用自患者手腕採集的皮膚組織製成iPS細胞，再將之轉化成視網膜色素上皮細胞，並製成薄膜狀，最後移植至患部。此項研究若成功，將可有效解決器官捐贈不足的問題。
