冰桶挑戰（ALS Ice Bucket Challenge）慈善活動傳到台灣，各界均熱情響應，目前已有不少官員濕身，對於如果被點名會不會接受挑戰？中央銀行總裁彭淮南笑著回答說「我會捐錢」，還勸在場的媒體記者「不要淋啦！容易感冒」。

中央銀行20日公布今年第2季經常帳順差164.7億美元，金融帳淨流出143.7億美元，國際收支綜合餘額順差43.9億美元。彭淮南也罕見地親自上場說明強調，經常帳順差的國家，金融帳淨流出是必然的現象。

對於近日在台灣受到熱烈響應的「冰桶挑戰」，目前雖然沒有人在接受挑戰後點名彭淮南，但大家也關心如果被點到，彭淮南會不會接受挑戰？

彭淮南表示，淋冰水看起來很有趣，但有醫生警告，瞬間刺激血管，可能讓有高血壓、心血管疾病的患者，容易造成中風，所以還是要顧及身體狀況，他同時也勸在場的媒體記者「不要淋啦！容易感冒」。

彭淮南表示，每個人關心社會的做法不同，「我會捐錢」，他也指出，像高雄氣爆時，他也與央行同仁自掏腰包捐款，沒有聲張。
