Tobias Harris貢獻28分及生涯新高的20籃板，幫助魔術克服雙位數落後，以114比105賞給湖人3連敗。

魔術和湖人跨年後戰績可說是不相上下的糟糕，魔術13場只贏1場，湖人則是12場贏3場。

兩隊狹路相逢，湖人在開賽搶得先機，打出一波16比8攻勢，魔術在Harris命中三分後展開追擊，迅速縮小差距，Arron Afflalo投中壓哨球，魔術以28比32落後。

湖人上半場Pau Gasol手感最佳，貢獻12分，魔術則有Harris的17分13籃板，但上半場結束前3分鐘，魔術投籃失準心，讓湖人以55比只53領先結束上半場。

下半場開始，湖人繼續在進攻端加壓，在Gasol領軍下打出10比2攻勢，迅速取得雙位數優勢，但領先維持不到1分鐘，魔術趕緊追擊，這節剩下3分22秒時，Harris連投帶罰帶領魔術一舉取得91比80反超。

湖人從領先雙位數到落後，士氣大受打擊，最後一節只能看著魔術不斷擴大領先，儘管Kendall Marshall在比賽結束前命中三分也於事無補，最終湖人就以9分之差吞敗，戰績在太平洋聯盟墊底。
