迎接103年，市府舉辦2014台南跨年4部曲活動，臺南市政府環保局事先在四處活動場地備妥足夠的垃圾桶，活動結束後立即動員清理場地，迅速恢復原貌。環保局長張皇珍感謝參與活動的民眾配合垃圾不落地政策，歡度環保優質的跨年盛會。

市府在北門井仔腳、台南高鐵站前廣場、左鎮二寮舉跨年及新化虎頭埤升旗4部曲活動。環保局為了降低跨年活動對環境產生的衝擊，事前周詳規劃，在4部曲的場地放置足夠的垃圾桶及資源回收桶，動員清潔人員及環保志義工宣導，並出動環保局資源回收娃娃在現場宣導，多數民眾配合宣導，將垃圾分類投入垃圾桶及資源回收桶，展現優質公民的環保素養。

活動結束後，清潔隊員立即整理環境，配合工務局、歸仁區公所人員及環保志義工分工合作快速復原。環保局統計，北門送夕陽場地清出0.2公噸垃圾，重頭戲跨年晚會清理2.91公噸垃圾，二寮迎曙光則有0.35公噸垃圾，新化虎頭埤升旗典禮共清理0.5公噸垃圾，共出動86人，11輛清潔潔車，共清運近4公噸的垃圾。
