中市新光興隆橋今動土

【蔡智銘／台中報導】建於1983年的太平區光興隆橋的太平區光興隆橋，因橋面狹窄僅7.5公尺，車禍頻傳，民眾爭取興建新橋，今天由市長胡志強親自主持動土典禮，但典禮後市府發出新聞稿卻表示未來會繼續保留舊橋，採「新舊併行」，理由是舊橋可以紓解車流。雖有民眾認同，但也有人質疑：「如果還要靠舊橋難紓解車流，為何新橋不設計大一點？」何況舊橋已高齡30歲，難道要等它斷裂才要拆？
 
建設局長吳世緯澄清表示，只是暫時保留並進行評估，如果舊橋有危險性，還是會拆除。
