伊波拉疫苗有短效，需再補一劑

美國國家衛生研究所 (NIH)公布實驗結果，一種伊波拉疫苗注射到四隻猴子身上，五周後讓牠們接觸病毒，對四隻都有保護之效，但效果時間有限，十個月後再接觸病毒，只有兩隻無恙，因此研究人員補打牠們一劑包在痘病毒 (poxvirus ，用於預防天花)裡的伊波拉基因 (第一劑疫苗的伊波拉病毒包在黑猩猩的感冒病毒裡)，結果，打過同樣的第一劑十個月後補打這第二劑，四隻猴子都獲得保獲。

不過NIH「過敏與傳染病」部門主任法烏奇說，少數動物的研究結果還無法保證實驗階段的疫苗碰到真實重大疫情時有用，因此隔離治療、個人衛生等防疫抗疫措施仍然最重要。
