圓潤可愛、輕巧動人的DAIHATSU Copen，第一代車型於2001年發表，在行銷十多年後原廠在2012年8月底宣佈停產。但其實早在2011年日本東京車展時，DAIHATSU就已經先行發表D-X敞篷概念跑車，暗示下代Copen的延續計畫。而2012雅加達車展上的D-R概念車，更進一步描繪出第二代Copen的雛形。
