牡丹社事件140周年　盼還原民歷史解釋權

邁入140周年的牡丹社事件，為台灣近代史重要的歷史事件，牡丹鄉公所2010年向交通部觀光局申請3600萬經費，面積12公頃的牡丹社紀念公園歷經3年原地重建，今天開幕邀請到許多排灣族人到場觀禮，但族人最希望的是「奪回歷史解釋權」。
 
牡丹社事件將排灣族塑造成兇殘形象，有別於日本與漢人觀點，排灣後代族人認為歷史被扭曲，排灣族人認為祖先是為保護後代，努力抗爭到最後一刻。為還原真相，園區內附有考據的歷史故事牆、牡丹社事件資訊展等。
 
牡丹鄉長陳英銘說，牡丹社公園重建，主要導正外界對排灣族是野蠻的誤解，並宣揚祖先強力抵抗外敵的精神是不可毀滅的。（李卉婷／屏東報導）
