【林浩昇／綜合報導】1998年推出、曾造成轟動的迷你車smart Fortwo，第3代車款預計將在2015年開賣，事實上smart所屬的德國戴姆勒汽車集團（Daimler AG），目前其實已正積極研發、測試全新車型。根據美國汽車網站Worldcarfans報導，已經看過測試車的smart北美地區總經理Mark Webster表示，新smart Fortwo不管是外型、尺碼設計都會有相當程度的改變，車長最多增加5公分，車寬大概會有7.6-10公分的成長，且為了因應多元化的用車趨勢，有可能會衍生包含高底盤車種在內的車型，但整體來說還不算是個大突破。

新車預計會在2014年底、2015年初在歐陸開始販賣。而按照這樣的新車生產規劃，如果是台灣市場最快可能得等到2015年底，才有可能正式導入販售。
