Lamigo桃猿日前將謝長融放在讓渡名單中，經5天之後，沒有球隊願意吸收，因此謝長融已成了自由球員。

謝長融去年加入桃猿，在一軍出賽51場，投40.1局，戰績1勝2敗、9次中繼成功，本季因手肘不適，開季從二軍出發，桃猿領隊劉玠廷表示謝長融4月28日在高雄醫學院動了Tommy John手術，5月6日至6月11日回診，6月12日至19日上午應該要先到高醫作復健，下午再到屏東練球，當時謝長融告知球隊防護員，都有去復健，但球隊在6月19日上午接到高醫的電話，才知道謝長融這段時間都沒去復健，因此決定將謝長融放進讓渡名單，並與他解約。
