【更新】美菲簽署國防協定　歐巴馬抵菲律賓

法新社報導，美國總統歐巴馬（Barack Obama）搭乘空軍一號班機，抵達菲律賓進行訪問。在歐巴馬訪問馬尼拉前，菲律賓國防部長戈茲敏（Voltaire Gazmin）與美國大使戈柏格（Philip Goldberg），今天代表簽署了效期10年的國防協定。在協定中，菲律賓將允許美國軍隊使用菲國軍事基地，且未來將有更多美國士兵輪換至菲國服役，參與聯合軍事演習。
 
由於與中國就南海島嶼主權問題產生爭端，菲國期望透過此協定提升其軍事實力，並強調該國與美國的同盟關係。（林奐成╱綜合外電報導）
