潛逃到英國的軍情局前中尉女軍官葉玫，19日遣返回國後，台中地方法院晚間認為葉玫有逃亡之虞，當庭裁定羈押。葉玫的委任律師郭德田也到機場代讀聲明，他表示，這個案子是個悲劇，希望軍方能檢討志願役軍官的退場機制，並稱說「希望葉玫是最後一個逃兵。」

郭德田表示，葉玫任官3個月就發現不適應，想要申請退伍，但屢遭軍情局拒絕，不願意讓葉玫簽退，她是遭受國家侵害工作基本權的受害者，希望檢察官、法院給予葉玫一次改過自新的機會，這個案子是個悲劇。

葉玫母親19日晚間也表示，葉玫的外公是職業軍人，而且不是一般軍人，是新竹黑蝙蝠中隊成員，她內疚地說，當年是她鼓勵葉玫從事軍職的；但因為葉玫個性較開放，與嚴謹的軍旅生活不合，找不到出口解決，「潛逃是走岔了」。

國防部軍事發言人羅紹和表示，國防部對於軍官退場都有完善的機制，如不適應者會先進行輔導。只是軍情局的官員也透露，葉玫雖然經過溝通後同意輔導，但沒料到她會「一邊同意輔導，一邊卻想逃。」軍情局現在也全面檢討，「只要不想幹，就讓他退訓。」
