全球知名手機免費簡訊及通話應用程式 (app) LINE 南韓母公司 Naver 週一 (25 日) 宣布，該軟體全球下載次數突破 3 億門檻，在短短 4 個月內就暴增 1 億用戶。

LINE 今年 7 月才突破 2 億次下載里程碑，由今年 4 月達到的 1.5 億人用戶上增，當時花了 3 個月才增加 5000 萬人次，顯示成長速度加快。而事實上 LINE 早在 2011 年 6 月便已推出，顯示成長趨勢伴隨智慧手機用戶增加速度。

LINE 目前在全球約 230 個國家推出，包含中文、西班牙文及印尼文等 14 種語言選擇，由 Naver 日本分公司負責這項業務。他們將近期成長歸功於中東及亞洲的用戶人數增加，且拜 2011 年底推出語音電話服務及表情功能之賜，加上拉丁美洲地區用戶增多。

現有 LINE 用戶 90% 來自南韓以外國家，以日本、泰國及台灣為前三大市場。《韓聯社》報導，分析師預估 LINE 在持續拓展全球市場之下，下載人次至 2015 年可達 4.5 億的里程碑。
