【石明啟／桃園報導】葉姓男子昨天傍晚駕駛廂型車，行經桃園新屋鄉東福路二段時，疑因閃避穿越馬路小貓，車輛失控衝進路旁稻田裡，駕駛右手肘輕微擦傷，並無大礙。

【大紀元2013年09月15日訊】（大紀元英文版報導葉淑貞編譯）千萬不要被美國名校的高額學費給嚇跑了！這些名校擁有龐大的捐款用以支助學生，學生實際支付的學費比標示低很多，他們反而比名氣較小學校的同儕背負較少的學貸。根據《美國新聞與世界報導》（U.S. News & World Report）雜誌在2013年9月10日公佈的統計數據，獲得哈佛和耶魯大學助學金的一般學生只須支付標示學費的大約四分之一。

事實上，一些將背負巨額學貸的畢業生送到外面世界的學校，並非是那些校名響噹噹的頂尖名校。許多美國頂尖大學以相對低廉的學費，偷走了獲得入學許可的幸運兒。

《美國新聞與世界報導》的學生就學貸款數據，是依據學生從學校、銀行、州政府和地方政府所獲得的學貸計算而得的，這不包括家長的貸款，也不包括家長給他們自己孩子的捐助。

美聯社報導，人們一般會根據學校所標示的學費，而認定這就是每個學生所支付的學費。目前任職於新美國基金會（New America Foundation）的前白宮教育顧問艾米‧雷提倫（ Amy Laitinen）說：「事實是，越有名的學校有越多的資源。他們有巨大的捐款，因此他們經常運用這些資源來幫助中低收入的學生，甚至是高收入的學生。」

且讓我們看一看在該雜誌年度評比位居最頂尖學校的普林斯頓大學。那些貸款以支付他們在長春藤學校教育的學生當中，在紐澤西普林斯頓大學四年只有5,096美元的學貸，這是畢業生背負學貸總和最低的一所公立大學。而其中獲得普林斯頓大學助學金（need-based aid）五名學生中，有三名支付低於標示學費的三分之一。

這主要是因為那些名氣最大的大學往往都有最成功的校友，他們對母校的資助是其投資組合的一部分。從這些學校接受的捐贈而獲得的利息，他們之中有66所每所都有10億美元以上的利息，用來抵銷學費、新的建築物、高知名度的教授，以及接踵而來的學生新研究等各項成本。

全國學院和大學工商人員協會（National Association of College and University Business Officers）大學財務人員專業組織的一項調查顯示，普林斯頓大學擁有170億美元的捐款。然而，該校告訴《美國新聞與世界報導》說，為得到學校的助學金，競爭是激烈的。去年該大學只接受8％的申請者。

在《美國新聞與世界報導》的年度評比中居第二名的學校哈佛大學，據報有300億美元的捐款。這慷慨捐贈一部分幫助提供了其59％的學生助學金。扣除這些助學金和獎學金之後，平均成本下降到僅15,486美元，比標示的學費少了73%。但學生甚至更難獲得該校的入學許可，學校僅接受6％的申請者。

在美國新聞與世界報導》的名單中，整體素質居第三名的耶魯大學，有190億美元的捐贈。這幫助了耶魯大學提供54％的學生助學金。這為那些學生的平均學費降為16,205美元，也比標示的學費少了73%。而該校的錄取率為7％。

當然，這些學校的龐大資源是例外的情況。由學院的業務人員群體調查發現，在2012年，普通大學捐款是在4.9億美元左右。例如該雜誌發現，美國麻州的會德豐大學（Wheelock College）學生背負的學貸高居榜首，債額幾乎高達5萬美元。約有82％的畢業生背負債務，他們平均債務是49,439美元。這所排名900的大學，所獲得的贈款只有4,300萬美元，與其他學校比起來是小巫見大巫。
