根據美國「慈善紀事」週刊(Chronicle of Philanthropy)1日公布的2013年全美慈善家排行榜，去年一整年裡捐款最多的慈善家是臉書(Facebook)創辦人馬克‧祖克柏(Mark Zuckerberg)，排名第2的是知名品牌Nike創辦人奈特（Phil Knight），前紐約市長彭博則是排名第3。排行榜中前15名的慈善家在去年所捐贈的金額合計多達34億美元。
慈善紀事表示，馬克‧祖克柏與妻子普莉希拉．陳(Priscilla Chan)在去年12月份向矽谷社區基金會(Silicon Valley Community Foundation)捐了1800萬股Facebook股票，其總價值為9.92億美元左右，這也同時是單筆捐款的最高金額。
至於Nike創辦人奈特則在去年捐贈5億美元給奧勒岡健康與科學大學(Oregon Health &Science University)，用以研究癌症，是第2大筆捐款。彭博捐給母校約翰霍普金斯大學(The Johns Hopkins University) 3.5億美元，排名第3。
