新北市一名蔡姓工頭20日帶著5名工人，前往桃園蘆竹的工地，蔡男因將前方座位讓給同事，自己則坐在廂型車的後車廂，不料在中山高速公路五楊高架南下44公里處，右後輪竟爆胎、打滑，衝撞護欄，蔡男因未繫安全帶，在強大撞擊之下，顱內出血，送醫後不治身亡。

根據《中央社》報導，蔡姓工頭20日要去桃園蘆竹的工地做水泥工，帶著5名工人共搭一輛廂型車，但因廂型車只能坐5人，蔡男讓出位置給同事坐，自己則坐在後車廂。

沒想到在五楊高架道路、架南下44公里處，發生死亡車禍，廂型車疑似右後輪老舊，在途中突然爆胎、打滑，還從外側車道衝進內車道，又撞擊到護欄，廂型車車體完全變形。

消防局接獲報案後立刻派人救援，車內有2名乘客受到輕傷，都被送往林口長庚醫院治療，而蔡男因坐在後車廂，未繫安全帶，在強大撞擊之下，顱內出血，被救出時已經沒有生命跡象，但蔡男家屬及同事還是堅持將他送醫，經急救後仍宣告不治。
