美國大聯盟各隊開訓，紅人隊王建民台北時間16日將進牛棚練投，剛加入海盜隊的陽耀勳已進牛棚練投，台灣投手今年獲邀參加大聯盟春訓的還有金鶯隊陳偉殷、印地安人隊李振昌、太空人隊羅嘉仁、釀酒人隊王維中等人。

開訓第1天，王建民左腳不適，他說「感覺快爆炸」，所幸經隊醫診斷並無大礙，只是虛驚一場，建仔明天要進牛棚練投。王建民對於自己的身體狀況感到滿意，今天他只是短暫地傳接球。

Derek Jeter日前宣布今年球季後退休，過去王建民效力洋基隊時，曾與Jeter是隊友，因此得知這個消息後，建仔覺得有點捨不得。

王建民去年底與紅人隊簽小聯盟合約，月薪1萬5000美元，若能登上大聯盟，年薪125萬美元，另有激勵獎金，同時，合約設有「逃脫條款」，時間在5月31日及6月30日。

美媒認為，王建民開季時可能會在3A，同時他也能增加紅人隊先發投手的深度，當然，建仔有機會力拚紅人隊開季時的第5號先發投手，也有可能是長中繼，左投Jeff Francis另一名受期待的先發投手人選。
