Skype證實 已開發3D視訊通話

Skype向媒體證實，他們已在開發3D視訊通話功能。

在Skype成立10週年時，微軟Skype部門企業副總裁吉列接受了BBC採訪。他表示，他們在實驗室裡研究了3D螢幕和3D拍攝的功能，取得很大進步，很多人現在購買的電視和電腦顯示幕都能顯示3D圖像。

但是他說，真正要推出這種技術可能需要很多年。市場上還沒有拍攝設備，所以當使用這種技術時，必須在電腦上添加許多個攝影鏡頭，並要精確調整到合適的角度。skype在實驗室裡已經這麼做了，也知道如何使用這種技術，但是他們希望有支持這種技術的設備生態系統出現，這樣才會考慮將這種技術推廣到市場。　他表示，只有當3D電視、電腦、手機非常普及時，人們才能看到3D視頻通話。

3D格式近來出現萎靡不振的跡象，最近ESPN宣布，將取消3D頻道；而英國廣播公司也表示，將結束為期兩年的3D電視試播。Skype決定支持3D，多少給設備製造商帶來希望。
