【大紀元2013年09月29日訊】（大紀元記者李圓明綜合報導）9月27日（週五）上午，一位名叫席勒（Judah Schiller）的41歲灣區男子創造了1個奇蹟，他騎著自己改造的自行車橫跨舊金山海灣。他把自行車固定在木筏上，用腳踏車作為動力。席勒用1個多小時從奧克蘭從海面騎到舊金山，完成了4英里的行程。當到達舊金山1號碼頭時，他說：「沒有公交車，沒有汽車，沒有出租車，沒有行人，明年將有500個車友與我一同在海灣的虛擬自行車車道上橫跨海灣。」這個想法是席勒在4個月前坐在一艘小船上，在經過海灣大橋時想到的。

在奧克蘭的海灣邊，席勒花了不到10分鐘將他的陸路自行車改造成水上自行車。他穿著T恤、短褲，沒帶頭盔。席勒說：「在海岸上的每個人都在看我，因為他們從來沒見過這樣的東西。」他唯一擔心的是有客戶在這時打來電話。席勒抵達時，家人和朋友在那裡迎接他。

席勒描述，在灣區水域裡騎著這個水陸混合的自行車，有時他隨著水滑行。有時渡輪會從他面前經過，蕩起的波浪在前方1英里處，他就能看到。他說：「接著開始上下顛簸，感覺很像山地自行車」。席勒預測說：「這是自行車的未來發展，地球的2/3被水覆蓋。在這樣1個四周被水環繞的標誌性城市，為什麼不能開創這個前沿呢？」

【大紀元2013年09月29日訊】(大紀元記者良克霖費城報導)9月14日（週六），由亞裔聯合會（AAU）主辦的第十八屆中秋節聯歡會在費城華埠隆重舉行，吸引了上千民眾參加。各種豐富多彩的表演活動寄托著濃濃鄉情，在這個閤家團圓之日撫慰了海外遊子的思鄉之情。

在當天的慶祝活動中，費城華人社區近20個社團帶來了他們精彩的節目，有斐斐音樂學校的小提琴合奏，民藝特許學校合唱團的傘舞，美梅舞蹈團的山地舞，海華曲藝社的粵劇，費城京劇社的京劇，焦愛愛的雜技，張樹培洪家功夫學院表演的洪拳功夫等。此外還有用16線絃琴演奏的越南音樂，菲律賓舞蹈和爵碩大學（Drexel University）的印度舞蹈。

亞裔聯合會青少年組織會負責人陳威向記者介紹說，當初是因為一群青少年的思鄉情懷，亞裔聯合會因而創辦了中秋聯歡晚會。費城中秋節慶祝活動今年是第18屆，它已經成為費城一年一度弘揚中國傳統文化的盛事。辦中秋節聯歡會的目的之一是要「繼承中國傳統文化，讓更多的人了解我們的文化。」做了大量青少年組織工作的陳先生說，這類活動能幫助華裔青少年了解自己的根。他還說：「今天有一百多名高中生做義工，參加服務社區的活動也是學校要求的一部分，對他們的學業非常有益處。」

除文藝表演外，中秋聯歡會現場還有吃月餅比賽、猜燈謎、書法、剪紙、畫臉、吹爆氣球、做燈籠及其它手工製作、兒童遊戲等等多種娛樂活動，也吸引了熙熙攘攘的人群。最後慶祝活動在伴隨有舞龍舞獅的遊行高潮中圓滿落幕。
