【大紀元2013年07月01日訊】（大紀元記者伊虎編譯報導）一架被稱為「太陽能脈衝（Solar Impulse）」的單人駕駛飛機完成了橫跨美國大陸的壯舉，這架只使用太陽能的飛機引起了美國能源部和世界各地愛好者的強烈關注。
　　
這架主要由歐洲人花了13年研製的飛機成本約1億5千萬美元，它飛行時沒有發動機的「嗷嗷」聲，它的紡錘形機身無論白天和黑夜飛行時都不使用一滴飛行燃料，完全使用太陽能量。
　　
美國能源部負責人莫尼茲（Ernest Moniz）在新聞發佈會上稱讚這一壯舉勾畫出美國清潔能源的未來，他尤其強調我們的駕車方式和生活建築很快將會有大的改變。
　　
「太陽能脈衝」的製造公司總裁博斯伯格（Andre Borschberg）指出高空飛行輕量技術將很快會被運用到地面， 從而製造出更清潔的家電，和更環保的汽車以及更節省能源的建築等等。
　　
「飛機產生的污染只佔全球污染的3%，而這種技術應用到地面後將更好地改善環境。」 博斯伯格接受美聯社採訪時指出。
　　
這次的飛行壯舉從三藩市到紐約，途中停留了五次；預計最快到2015年這架飛機的升級版將可以完成用太陽能環球飛行的壯舉。
　　
能源部負責人莫尼茲稱「太陽能脈衝」號的成功飛行使能源部更有信心推廣以下四個方面的高新清潔能源技術：太陽能利用、夜間飛行的電池技術、輕量材料、和集成技術。
　　
莫尼茲先生還稱這些技術將會廣泛運用到地面上，如果屋頂太陽能面板使用輕量碳纖維和更輕的太陽能電池的話，太陽能房屋建造的成本將降低。
　　
「太陽能脈衝」號飛機攜帶了1萬1千多個太陽能面板，大部份面板分佈在長達208英尺的超長機翼上；雖然看上去像一架巨型噴氣式飛機，但它的重量只有3,500磅，跟一部小汽車差不多。

這是大多區2日內第2宗類似事件。安省米爾頓地區（Milton）一名2歲男童，26日下午被家人長時間獨自留在自家轎車中，後被發現死亡。當日最高氣溫達31度，被懷疑是因為難以承受車內高溫熱死。週四荷爾頓（Halton）警方確定了這一事實，並呼籲父母或照顧孩子的家人，不管天氣或季節，勿將兒童獨自留在車輛中。
